 The Krewe of Omega, established in 1986, provides good, clean fun and entertainment for members while bringing the celebration of Mardi Gras to Tangipahoa Parish and surrounding areas.

 

 

 

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Our parade was cancelled due to rain.  What now?
 
The Krewe of Omega cannot reschedule our parade for several reasons.  Among them are:
 
  • Unless we call the parade prior to 5:00 a.m., the Krewe is obligated to pay for the floats.  This is a standard contract for all krewes that rent professional floats.  The weather that caused the cancellation was not predicted prior to the afternoon, when the floats were already on the way up from New Orleans.

  • Unlike the New Orleans krewes that follow other parades when they reschedule, we do not have the infrastructure (police, float escorts, etc.) in place.
