2025 PARADE ENTRY INFORMATION

  Dr. William Wainwright was appointed President of Southeastern Louisiana University on April 27th2023. Before serving in this role, he served as Chancellor of Northshore Technical Community College beginning in August 2011. In 2018, Dr. Wainwright accepted the Interim Appointment of Chancellor of Delgado Community College to lead the college through the search for a new Chancellor. He officially returned to his post as Chancellor of NTCC on July 1, 2019. Dr. Wainwright began his higher education career as a faculty member and grant writer. He later served in various leadership positions within the Louisiana Community and Technical College System and as Vice President of Business Services for the Safety Council. 

Career Highlights include Institute for Citizens & Scholars Higher Education Policy Fellow, Harvard Institute for Educational Management Fellow, Salzburg Global Leadership Institute Fellow, Accreditation Consultant for Jeddah Community College in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and publication in The Community College Journal of Research and Practice. Dr. Wainwright currently serves as a board member of GNO, Inc., United Way of Southeast Louisiana, the Northshore Business Council, and President of the St. Tammany Corporation Board of Commissioners. He is also a member of the Committee of 100 for Economic Development.

Local, state, and national highlights include being recognized as the 2014 St. Tammany Economic Development Innovator of the Year, 2015 Partner of the Year, and 2017 St. Tammany West Chamber of Commerce Community Leadership Award recipient. National and state higher education highlights include the 2016 nomination to the American Association of Community Colleges Commission on Research, Innovation, and Emerging Trends, the Immediate Past President of the Council for Louisiana Colleges and Universities, and the 2017 nomination to the La STEM Advisory Council. 

He completed his doctoral studies in Higher Education Administration at the University of New Orleans in December 2011. He resides in Hammond with his wife Misty and their two children, Zachary and Ella-Grace.

Misty is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Board-Certified Counselor with over 25 years of experience in psychotherapy. She is licensed to provide in-person and teletherapy counseling in the state through the Louisiana State Board of Licensed Professional Counselors. Misty earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Student Services and Counseling from Northwestern State University. For the last 19 years, she has operated a private practice in Covington and specializes in women’s mental health with a specific focus on perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. Over her professional career, Misty has received extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of women experiencing antenatal/postpartum depression, postpartum obsessive-compulsive intrusive thoughts, postpartum psychosis, birth trauma, high-risk pregnancies, infertility issues, and fetal/infant death. She has taught hundreds of clinicians, nurses, and doctors through continuing education courses and lectures on the proper diagnosis and treatment of disorders surrounding pregnancy and the postpartum period. In addition to her private practice work, Misty provides consults with OB/GYNs and other healthcare providers who seek her opinion on developing treatment plans for their patients. 

Misty is a member of Postpartum Support International, the Louisiana Counseling Association, the National Board for Certified Counselors, the American Counseling Association, and the National Alliance for Mental Illness. In 2023, she was appointed to serve on the state of Louisiana Pregnancy Associated Mortality Review Board, which reviews maternal deaths that occur during pregnancy or within one year following pregnancy.
